The Greatest Homemade Costume for All Time!

When you have to attend a party and it happens to be a fancy dress party, all kinds of costume ideas will cross your mind. You might decide that you want to dress as a naughty nurse, or a King, or perhaps a pirate. Whatever you decide you want it to look good and be somewhat comfortable. One way to meet both of these goals is to wear a homemade costume. The other positive is that the cost will be much cheaper than buying one.

When you go to a costume party you’ll see all kinds of characters. Some will be in the latest trendy movie character – usually pretty expensive. Others will be using their renaissance faire peasant garb. Personally I like that idea myself but I digress. Anyway, a good homemade costume, what is a good costume easily made at home. I know what you are thinking and no. You can not throw a sheet over your head poke two holes in it and call yourself a ghost. Grow up already!

Personally I like the pirate costume for a Halloween party. Think about it for a second. They wear anything they can steal from whoever they are ship jacking at the moment. Now that is the perfect do it yourself costume my friend, easy cheap and comfortable.

Go to the closet find those ratty jeans and cut them off just below the knees. There’s the bottom half of your costume, now that wasn’t too hard was it and you’re halfway there. Find that old prom shirt or dude of honor outfit you used to wear to all of your friends weddings. Cut the shirt up a little and then tie it to your dog’s collar and take him for a run through the park making sure to miss the usual dog “business” areas. There may be ladies at the party! Keep that waist thing that you always put on upside down too.

Now just finish that homemade costume off with a bandana maybe a big loop ear ring and you got game my friend. Better yet you still have money in your wallet!
